The walk-in queue runs the whole walk-in day. A client checks in on a tablet at the door, gets a ticket on the phone, watches the TV for their number and gets a message when it is their turn. Your team runs the line from the Barberly app.
The parts#
| Part | What it does | Where it runs |
|---|---|---|
| Self check-in kiosk | Clients check themselves in | A tablet at the entrance, in the browser |
| Client ticket | The number, the wait and live status, with updates by email or SMS | The client's phone, from the QR code on the kiosk |
| Queue screen and appointment board | Who is called, who is waiting, today's appointments per barber | Any TV, in the browser or the TV app |
| TV app | Keeps a TV on one screen, signs in once | Apple TV, Google TV and Android TV |
| The queue in the Barberly app | Call, start, complete, move clients | The portal and the Barberly business app |
Everything is included in every Barberly plan. The kiosk and the TV screens run on the tablet and the TV you already have.
Two ways to take walk-ins#
- Check-in to the queue. The client picks a service, optionally a barber, leaves a name and gets a number. First come, first served, or assigned to the barber they asked for. The number appears on the queue screen.
- Check-in with a time. The kiosk books the client into a free slot today with the chosen barber, or the first available one. Walk-ins and online bookings share one timeline. The client comes back at that time.
You can offer one of the two, or both on different tablets. A timed check-in is a normal Barberly appointment; a queue check-in is a walk-in with a number.
What you need#
- A tablet, iPad or Android, with internet, for the kiosk.
- A TV for the queue screen or the appointment board, with a browser or with Apple TV, Google TV or Android TV.
- Nothing from Barberly: there is no hardware to buy.
Where the settings are#
